Some of you may remember when the Biggie/Pac thing was going on and
Snoop came through to NYC and crushed the buildings with the NY NY
(video) ect. NYC responded with some of the best music to ever drop.
Not the Mobb Deep/CNN response either. I'm talking about the music
cats started to put out after the fact. There was a circle the wagons
mentality and let's show the world what we got.

Why can't that be accomplished now? I'm not on some "bring NY back" so
don't go there. That was '06 right? Does the east as whole need
someone to disrespect them to start really "doing them" again?

Imagine if back when Snoop came thru and crushed the buildings if NY
MCs decided to instead of circling the wagons, let's try to be like
Snoop. I mean that's pretty much what a lot of MCs in the east are
doing with emulating your favorite southern rappers. Right or wrong?

I mean the south felt disrespected for years. Circled the wagons,
collaborated, lifted each other up for the most part and took it right
to hip hop's chest plate. That's the blueprint so why are people
ignoring it?

Is it ego's? Is it the record label's fault? (laughs) Is it the
Internets fault? (chokes) Is it Jay-Z's fault...he didn't pass you
the torch? (rolls eyes)

What other excuses can you give me?

Let's break it down to the very last compound cause I know cats will
say there's plenty of good music in the east right now and there is
some out there but I'll tell you why it's not like it should be and
that's that the music really, honestly isn't good.

So when will the wagons be circled and MCs start just doing them
again? Nothing is really "selling" so why are cats all trying to make
the same music? Drives me crazy...
